Hi, hello & how are you going?? :)

I hope you are having a wonderful Friday,  it is nice & quiet here today which is just fabulous.  I haven’t done a whole heap of stamping so I don’t have anything new to show you.  i have had a few people e-mail me asking baout our farm & farm life so I thought I’d pop some photos on here to give you a little insight to my life :)

now this isn’t going to be as long as I had originally planned because my internet etc is going super duper slow today,  i will have some more sorted out for you to see over the weekend.  So this first photo is one of the tractor & seeder that Robby (my hubby) is driving,  we have 3 machines set up similar to this

robbys-rig I am sorry the photo isn’t really good quality, but the day I took this was overcast, very nice actually :)

So this next picture is how we get the seed (wheat or lupins) and fertiliser into the bin.  The front end loader fills up the truck & then the truck brings it up the paddock to where the tractors are seeding.  The seed & fertiliser comes out these tubes (augers) on the side & into the hoppers, to go up the tubes (augers) on the bin then into the bin.  There is a big fan on the front of the bin that creates wind in the bin & this makes the seed & fertiliser go out the back of the bin thru some tubes that are on the back of the bar & down into the ground.  The fertiliser goes down deepest & then the seed is put sort of ontop of it, (I hope this makes a little bit of sense to you).  Anyway here is the pic

filling-up-the-jdThe white tanks on the front of the bin are for liquid fertiliser.  we use granular & liquid aswell.

Ok so that is all I have at the moment but I will try to organise some more tonight & post them as soon as I can.  I have had some other questions asked too so I will get to answering them :)

Have a great afternoon

Till next time………..keep smiling :)

Hi everyone,  I hope you are keeping well.  This colder weather is lovely isn’t it?!  Winter is almost here……I love winter, it means no dust, lots of soup, hot milo’s & cuddles……LOL!

I am just here to say that I am sorry I haven’t posted since Monday, but life has been quite busy this week.  Seeding is nearly finished & I have been helping out a little so I haven’t had alot of time to stamp :(

I had a great day Thursday as I had a workshop in Geraldton with some lovely ladies that are part of a Mother’s group, (hi ladies).  The ladies made 9 cards & learnt some new things about Stampin’  Up! products.  I think they all enjoyed themselves….I know I did & I LOVE cuddling their babies (& then I can give them back…..lol).

Anwyay I’m just here to let you know that I really do love you visiting & say I’m sorry for not posting for a few days.  I have a busy weekend with my kids so I will hopefully have something up on Tuesday (Monday being a holidays in WA).

Don’t forget to post a comment on the Blog Candy,  I’d love you to have the chance to win this great pack of Stampin’  Up! products.

Thanks again for stopping bye & I will have some stamping back up for you as soon as I can.

Till next time…………..keep smiling :)

Good Monday morning :D

I truely hope you have had a wonderful weekend.  I had a little stamping time – in between kids things, a birthday party & workmen lunches.

I was doing some blog surfing a while ago & saw this tutorial for this box & just new I had to try it  “one day”.  Well the weekend was the one day.  I think these boxes are so cute I know I’ll be making more of them in the future

Hi, hello & how are you? :)

I find it very interesting that when  read a book I don’t stamp very much.  I also find it interesting that my mum tells me that I used to be a bookworm when I was a kid but I can’t remember reading much at all.  I do know that I found reading a “waste of time” when I was in high school & therefor didn’t read unless I “had” to.  It is only now that I have been thinking about things & realise that maybe I couldn’t find a book that I enjoyed reading & so gave up on the habit.

My kids are serious bookworms.  If you can’t find Ebony (DD 8yo)  go look in her “cozy corner” or somewhere out of the way & you will usually find her with her nose in a book of some sort.  Jemma (DD 10yo) is more often than not sitting on her bed reading a book or writing poetry.  Maddi (DD 6 1/2yo) loves to sit in her beanbag next to her bookshelves & read & Tom (DS 5yo) loves to sit on his bed reading,  (Robby found him reading one of Maddi’s fairy books the other day)  :P

(In rereading the above paragraph, it sounds like my kids never get out of the house……..but that is so totally not the case.  They love getting out & playing in the “mud”  of late (I think they are desperate for some rain too))

Anyway this year I have rediscovered reading.  I bought Eragon for Ebony to give to her for her birthday & told her that I had better have a read of it before she does, just to make sure it was going to be ok……….She hasn’t seen it since, lol.  I do think it is a bit old for her yet & she will get it when she is of the right age, but for now it sits with my collection on books.   After finishing Eragon I just had to get Eldest & then Brisngr & then when I had finished Brisngr I went onto the internet to find out the name of the next book & see if I could buy it, much to my disgust I have to wait because it has not been published yet……..so what to read in the mean time???   I did have a break for a couple of weeks & then one night Jemma brought some books to me that she had ordered from bookclub & she asked me to hang onto them because they are a bit scary for her.  Well I said no worries I’ll do that.  Do you mind if I read them while i hold onto them?  (not thinking much of it) but I can’t put them down.  i just love books that are about dragons, magical & mystical things, wizards & other realms.  I find these sort of books soooooo invigorating for the imagination & I think this is why I don’t stamp as much while I am reading…..my imagination is all worn out (lol).  So I have read 3 of the 4 books in the quartet in a matter of about 3 days & I have said I am not reading the 4th yet…….but we’ll wait & see how long that lasts for :D

Well now that I have gotten right off the track of posting about stamping I should show you something I CASEd from the catalogue the other day.  I have made two cards here & they are both based on the card on page 99 in the catty.

With these cards they are both 4″x4″.  I have used Riding Hood Red as the base & then the only other colour cardstock I have used is Very Vanilla. I stamped the “leaf” images first & then used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the trunks,  anyway here they are

trendy-trees-case-pg-99All supplies Stampin’  Up!

Stamp set:  Trendy Trees

Ink:  Kiwi Kiss,  Pumpkin Pie,  Close to Cocoa

Cardstock:  Riding Hood Red,  Very Vanilla

Accessories:  Paper piercing tool & mat pack,  Stamp-a-ma-jig,  Stampin’ Dimensionals

These cards are so easy & really quite nice & simple.  How easy is it to open the catty,  find a card you like & then CASE (Copy And Share Everything) it.  You could achieve a whole SWAG of cards in an afternoon….mmmmmmm just what I need to do :D

Enjoy your day & till next time………keep smiling :)

Happy Tuesday everyone :)

Today I have a card to show you that I received in the mail a little while ago.  I have had it sitting on my kitchen bench because I just ADORE the rooster in the Rustic Rooster stamp set that Stampin’ Up! have as a hostess set.  I couldn’t help myself  but to order this.  I just love love love chooks, roosters, cows, pigs, sheep etc……  We don’t have any farm animals ourselves, not due to my not liking them, we just don’t have the right yard for them…..YET,  but they are plentiful in my kitchen :)   with a rooster sitting pride of place on the wall above my stove.

Anyway here is the card I received.  It came from a lovely lady named Jesse Claven,  you will find her blog here

rustic-rooster-by-jesse-clavenIf you would like any details on her card, just pop me an e-mail & I can answer your questions.

Well today I am trying to do some stamping, but between organising workmen’s lunches for today & then thinking of what else to cook to pack for the next day or two, thinking about dinner,  doing some sorting for the school uniform shop & housework, I just don’t know how much I will achieve.

Keep watching this space,  I will hopefully have something of my own for you soon.

Till next time……..keep smiling :)

Good evening :)

I hope you have had a wonderful day today.  I was flat out running around our farm this morning.  During seeding the trucks, utes & tractors need to be moved from one farm to another & it can’t be done by one person so there needs to be a “taxi” to help out & today that was my job.  I had the best day on the farm I have had for ages.  I don’t normally help out too much because my mother-in-law usually does all the running around & picking up parts so it was a bit of a novality today, a good one of course :D

Anyway while waiting for a call on the two-way to go do a pick-up & drop off I thought I’d do some blog surfing & I went to visit Kerri Hunter.  Kerri has made a lovely card using the Inspired by Nature stamp set.  This is a set I just had to have when I first saw it in the new catty :)   Although I did buy it , it has never been inked up……till today.  Since I am in need of inspiration lately I thought I’d use Makeesha’s colour challenge  in conjuction with Kerri’s card, anyway this is what I came up with

inkspirations-colour-challenge-7-oneAll supplies Stampin’  Up!

Stamp set:  Inspired by nature,  On Your Birthday,  Sanded

Ink:  Choc Chip, Sage Shadow

Markers:  Choc Chip, Sage Shadow, Really Rust

Accessories:  Cutter Kit (distressing tool),  wide Choc Chip grosgrain Ribbon,  Styled Silver Hodge Podge Hardware,  Buttons Latte,  Linen Thread,  Stampin’  Dimensionals,  paper Piercing tool & mat pack

I do like the way the stamped image came up but I am not sold on the card as a whole…….I’m still to make up my mind.

I hope you like my creation.  If you are ever in need of some inspiration help why not take a colour challenge or a sketch challenge, you never know where it may take you :D

Till next time…………keep smiling :)

Here I am again with anotehr card I received in the mail.  This one is from Claire (that Imentioned in yesterday’s post).  Claire sent this along with her swaps to me.  It is to say thankyou for organising the swap between demonstrators.  I love this card.  It is a gorgeous way of using the set Trendy Trees.  I think this one will be on the CASE-ing list :)

trendy-trees-thanks-claire-harrisonI love the colours Claire has used, they suit the images oh so well :)

I must dash now & go spend some precious time with Robby as he is having a lighter day today.

Till next time………keep smiling :)

Hi there,

I hope you have had a wonderful Saturday.  It has been a little crazy/unorganised  in our house today.

I am having trouble with getting used to Robby not being home much…….he is driving a tractor lately as they have started dry seeding.  He is gone by about 5.30am & gets home about 10 or 10.30pm every day.  We usually have had some rain by now but it is just so dry & the seed needs to be in the ground.  Once it does decide to rain we need to be able to finish off quickly so all the crop can make the most of the rain we do get.  So the Canola has been planted & the lupins are about half way through.  I think all the lupins are going in dry & then once it rains we have to wait for a few days for the weeds to come up so they can be sprayed & then it will be FLAT OUT on the wheat.  Enough babble about the farm. Onto some cards.

As I said yesterday I haven’t stamped much lately so I don’t really have anything on my own to show you so I thought I’d show you some cards I received in the mail lately.  I am not going to do recipes so if you would like to know info about the cards, just pop me an e-mail & I will answer your questions :)

All these cards are from fellow demonstrators  & are some swaps I received from them.

This one is from Margaret Knoops, go have a look on Margaret’s blog, she has some wonderful work there

This card is from Jenny Hayward, you will find Jenny’s blog here,  I’m sure Jenny would love to hear from you as I do :)

Here is a card from Rebecca O’Gorman,  you will find some great projects on Rebecca’s blog here

esad-unconvention-swap-rebecca-ogormanThis is the final card in the swap.  It is from Claire Harrison, Claire lives in Tasmania.  You can find Claire’s blog here, go have a look she has some great work over there :)

It was so nice to receive these cards in the mail,  it is awesome to see other people’s creations & it is incredible how much inspiration comes from holding onto something that someone else has created, so it comes back to my post title…….How lucky am I?!  very lucky I say :)

I am off to read my book as the creative juices just don’t seem to be flowing much, maybe I am too engrossed in my book……lol  :D

Have a wonderful Sunday tomorrow & I will be back with some more wonderful cards I have received in the mail lately :)
